Passion: Behind The Film

Following a raw breakup, a young woman is left blind-sighted and broken-hearted. In an attempt to understand what went wrong, she recollects the meaningful stages of her relationship.

As the title expresses, “Passion” is a short film about dealing with heartbreak through passion.

I am a strong believer in being proactive when being confronted with heartbreak. In a time of vulnerability, lowered self-esteem, and self-doubt, one of the best ways to successfully move on is through self-love. Admittedly, it would be unrealistic to assume the dancer has entirely moved on from her relationship by the end of the film. “Passion” is more about acceptance, making progress, and getting back on the path to self-love rather than a simple and easy heartbreak recovery.

Personally, my go-to method for achieving progress is through filmmaking. It is an area of my life in which I have control. I find strength in expressing myself and remembering I am the only one responsible for achieving my dreams. In a sense, “Passion” is a reminder to myself to not lose sight of my own passions in spite of external circumstances.
