A young woman gloriously walks the streets of Montreal with purpose and direction… Until?
When coming up with film titles, I enjoy playing with the double meaning of words. As a result, I named my experimental short "Sans sens," which is French for both "without direction” and "without meaning."

Accordingly, on one hand, the protagonist moves without proper orientation. She walks in one direction, with determination, until she realizes she’s forgotten something and has been traveling the wrong way all along (literally and metaphorically). I echo this lack of direction through symmetry in the cinematography and create a maze-like world where the character is simultaneously walking to and from the camera.

On the other hand, at first glance, this short appears to be without meaning. In fact, understandably so, as I pitched my idea of making a film about a woman walking in one direction and realizing she has been going the wrong way- I got a couple laughs. This short is very simplistic and more of an abstract idea than an actual story. Ultimately, as with most of my films, this short is intended to be open to interpretation.
